Violet noticed that Aunt Grace was dressed all in purple today. She always has the most amazing clothes and each outfit in a certain color, today was a dark purple color day and even her shoes were purple. Violet quickly pushed the book to the side, sat up and scooted over so there would be room for Aunt Grace to sit on her bed. Both of them were smiling big smiles. As her aunt sat down she leaned over and they shared a big hug. That was one more thing that Aunt Grace was good at…she gave the best hugs!
“I am so excited that you are here! I love when you visit!” Grace smiled and said “You are a special part of my life and I love you and seeing you. I am glad we can talk just you and me and I have some questions for you; but first do you have any questions for me?”
“Why are you dressed all in purple?”
“Because it is Thursday, and Thursday is the day we work to embrace purple and wear sapphire” as she was answering she was pulling a large silver ring off of her hand and handing it to Violet “that is a sapphire stone. Do you like it?”
Violet liked it very much and the large ring was heavy in her hand, and took up her whole finger as she tried it on. Nodding she replied “It is very pretty and very heavy, do they come in little girl sizes – and can you only wear it on Thursday?”
Aunt Grace laughed as she took the ring back “Well you can wear good jewelry anytime but sapphire does its best work on Tuesday and Thursday. You are a bit young for such rings, after all how could you care for it out in the barn or while riding Grey? In fact you do not even like to wear good shoes, do you?” They both had a good laugh at that and Violet thought she was NOT ready for such a ring! ©
